Mike Wartella (former Boq – Broadway, 2nd Natl. Tour) will perform a solo show at 54 Below on August 25. In addition to WICKED, Mr. Wartella has been seen on Broadway in TUCK EVERLASTING and CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. His solo debut will include Broadway favorites and rock and roll as well as original music. There will be guest appearances by Aaron LaVigne, Andrea Laxton, and Tessa Grady. The band will be composed of Alex Hayes on bass, and Jake Robinson on drums, who are both childhood friends of Wartella.
Premium seating is available for $45 and general admission is $20 with a 2 Alcoholic Drink Minimum OR $20 Food & Beverage Minimum. Doors open at 11:00 pm and the show is at 11:30 pm. Visit 54below.com for more information.
The Broadway cast of WICKED will welcome several new cast members on Monday, July 31. Jackie Burns will return to the role of Elphaba, after having previously played the role on Broadway and on tour. She replaces Jennifer DiNoia. Amanda Jane Cooper will replace Kara Lindsay in the role of Glinda. Ms. Cooper has previously played the role on tour. Rondi Reed returns to play Madame Morrible, replacing Sheryl Lee Ralph. Ashley Parker Angel, who played Fiyero on tour, replaces Michael Campayno in the role. Jye Frasca will take on the role of Boq, replacing Zachary Noah Piser. Frasca was a member of WICKED’s original West End Company. Some of his other West End credits include JERSEY BOYS, WEST SIDE STORY, MAMMA MIA!, AND CATS. Kristen Martin will take on the role of Nessarose, which she previously played on tour.
They join as cast that includes PJ Benjamin as the Wizard and Chad Jennings as Dr. Dillamond.

106.7 LITE FM’s annual lunchtime summer series, Broadway in Bryant Park, has returned. Representing WICKED were current Elphaba Jennifer DiNoia, current Glinda Kara Lindsay, and current Fiyero Michael Campayno. Jayne Houdyshell (former Madame Morrible – Broadway) is nominated for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for her work in A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2. Stephanie J. Block (former Elphaba – Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Pre-Broadway) is nominated for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for FALSETTOS. Susan Hilferty is nominated for Best Costume Design of a Play for PRESENT LAUGHTER.

The touring company of WICKED will welcome Ginna Claire Mason to the role of Glinda on March 15 in Syracuse, New York. Ms. Mason takes over the role from Amanda Jane Cooper. For the last year, Ms. Mason has been the Glinda stand-by in the Broadway production. Her previous theater credits include the national tours of NEWSIES and FLASHDANCE.
Ms. Mason joins a cast that includes Jessica Vosk as Elphaba, Isabel Keating as Madame Morrible, Fred Applegate as the Wizard, Jeremy Woodard as Fiyero, Andy Mientus as Boq, Kristen Martin as Nessarose, and Harry Bouvy as Dr. Dillamond.

Tour) have all performed in the ensemble of BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROL KING MUSICAL.

Etai Benson (former Boq – 1st Natl. Tour) and Emily Ferranti (former Nessarose – 1st Natl. Tour, 2nd Natl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Glinda, u/s Nessarose – 1st Natl. Tour; former swing, u/s Nessarose – 1st Natl. Tour) are currently in the U.S. tour.
Carrie Manolakos (former s/b Elphaba – San Francisco, 2nd Natl. Tour), Jenny Fellner (former Nessarose – Broadway, 2nd Natl.Tour), and Liana Hunt (former Nessarose – 2nd Natl. Tour) all played the role of Sophie in MAMMA MIA! on Broadway.
