Blake & Smith to Take Part in SAY, DARLING Reading

Richard H. Blake (former Fiyero – Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour) and Paul Slade Smith (former Dr. Dillamond – 1st Ntl. Tour, San Francisco; former Witch’s Father, u/s Dr. Dillamond, Wizard – 1st Ntl. Tour) are set to take part in the reading of SAY DARLING today, March 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM. The show, which is billed as a play with music, is a “comedy about the making of a Broadway musical in 1950s New York” as per BroadwayWorld.

1st National Tour

Clifton Davis has replaced Paul Slade Smith as Doctor Dillamond.

2nd National Tour

Bridie Carroll has temporarily replaced Erin Wilson in the ensemble and as an understudy for Madame Morrible. Erin Wilson is expected to return to the company on August 21, 2012.

Dominic Giudici has replaced Jeremy Duvall as a Dance Captain and as a swing and understudy for Chistery. KJ Hippensteel takes over Mr. Duvall’s position as understudy for the Witch’s Father.

Scheveningen

Michael Nieuwehuyze has replaced Martijn Vogel in the ensemble and as an understudy for Boq.

Asian Tour

John O’Hara has replaced Nathan Carter as the Witch’s Father and understudy for The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond.

Maggie Kirkpatrick has returned to the role of Madame Morrible, replacing  Anne Wood.

Nathan Carter has replaced Glen Hogstrom as Doctor Dillamond.

Glen Hogstrom has replaced Bert Newton as The Wizard.

Jennifer DiNoia has replaced Zoe Jarrett as the alternate/standby for Elphaba.

Cast Update: 1st National Touring Production

Tom Flynn has replaced Paul Slade Smith as Dr. Dillamond in the 1st National Touring Production of “Wicked”. Tom has previously performed as Dr. Dillamond on the 1st National Tour and in the San Francisco production of the show.

Emily Ferranti has replaced Lesley McKinnell as a swing and understudy for Nessarose and the midwife. Ms. McKinell has joined the 2nd National Touring Company as a member of the ensemble and understudy for Glinda. The San Francisco page of the official “Wicked” website has been updated.

On February 9, 2010, Paul Slade Smith (former 1st National Tour) replaces Steven Skybell as Dr. Dillamond, and Libby Servais (former 2nd National Tour u/s) replaces Natalie Daradich as the standby for Glinda.

As previously reported, Jody Gelb (Madame Morrible) and Etai BenShlomo (Boq) also begin performances tomorrow. A headshot for Felicia Ricci (u/s Elphaba) who joined the company on February 5, is available as well.

In addition, Lauren Haughton has replaced Angel Reda in the ensemble, and Felicia Ricci has replaced Laura Purgelise, and is understudying Elphaba. Also, both Brenda Hamilton and Samantha Zack have joined as Swings. with Hamilton understudying the Midwife and Zack understudying the Witch’s Mother. Robert Pendila has also joined as a swing.

According to a reliable poster on WitchesofOz, Paul Slade Smith (Dr. Dillamond – 1st Ntl. Tour) and Tom Flynn (Dr. Dillamond – San Francisco) are set to switch places soon. We will let you know as soon as anything is returned, but I believe said poster to be very reliable, hence the reason I posted this here.
