Nine “Wicked” Alumni Cast In Upcoming Broadway Musical KINKY BOOTS

Nine former and current cast members of “Wicked” have been cast in the upcoming Broadway musical, KINKY BOOTS. The musical is based on the 2005 British film of the same name and is about a shoemaker in trouble and a drag queen who saves his family business. The production will debut in Chicago in October and premiere on Broadway in 2013. The musical features a score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Harvey Fierstein, and is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.
The “Wicked” alumni featured are: Annaleigh Ashford (former Glinda – Chicago, Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour), Charlie Sutton (former swing, u/s Chistery – Broadway), Andy Kelso (Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour), Tory Ross (former Midwife, u/s Morrible – 2nd Ntl. Tour), Adinah Alexander (former Midwife, u/s Morrible – Broadway), Caroline Bowman (ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway), Nathan Peck (ensemble – Broadway; former ensemble – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former swing – Chicago), Robert Pendilla (ensemble, u/s Boq – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former universal swing), and Clifton Oliver (former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – Broadway).
KINKY BOOTS will play at the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago from October 4, 2012-November 2, 2012.

Andy Karl has replaced Kevin Kern as Fiyero.
Todd Anderson has left as Swing; u/s Chistrey. A replacement is not listed on the official site. *
Brenda Hamilton (universal swing) has rejoined the ensemble as Swing; u/s Midwife.
Nathan Peck has replaced Ron Todorowski as Ensemble; u/s Chistrey. (Nathan is not listed as covering Chistrey; however, and he has not in the past, so we believe that this is just Ron’s ensemble track.) *
*We realize that it seems like this cast change eliminated both covers for Chistrey without replacing them, however; there have been four covers. Brian Wanee and Jonathan Warren remain as understudies for Chistrey.
Cast Update: Broadway, 2nd National Tour
0Broadway Production:
Chelsea Krombach (Ensemble; u/s for Elphaba) has left the cast and been replaced by Amanda Rose (previously Nessarose in the 1st National Tour and a Swing & u/s Nessarose on Broadway). Amanda is not listed as understudying Elphaba; Stephanie Torns of the 1st National Touring Cast will be joining the show in February, thus we are assuming Amanda’s joining of the cast is temporary.
2nd National Tour:
Justin Wirick has replaced Nathan Peck in the ensemble of the 2nd National Tour. He will be a featured dancer in the show.
