Liz McCartney and KC Fredericks Cast in Paper Mill’s THE LITTLE MERMAID

Liz McCartney
Liz McCartney (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) and KC Fredericks (former Chistery – 2nd Ntl. Tour) have been cast in Paper Mill Playhouse’s upcoming production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID. Ms. McCartney will play the role of Ursula and Mr. Fredericks will perform in the ensemble. This production will play Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey May 29-June 30, with an official opening set for June 2. This production will also play Pittsburgh’s CLO July 9-July 21 and Kansas City’s Starlight Theatre July 23-28.
The production, featuring a revamped script, additional songs, a new physical production and an entirely fresh interpretation of the piece.

Dioni Michelle Collins (former ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – Broadway, Los Angeles, Chicago) and Brooke Elliott (former ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) understudied Liz McCartney (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) as Big Sue in TABOO. Ms. Elliott temporarily replaced Ms. McCartney in the role during her maternity leave.
Angel Reda (former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – San Francisco, Los Angeles) currently plays Go-to-Hell Kitty and understudies the role of Velma Kelly in the Broadway revival of CHICAGO. Ms. Reda has previously appeared in this production as Mona and Annie, as well as understudying Roxie Hart.

Liz McCartney Nominated For Jeff Award
0Liz McCartney (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) has been nominated for a Jeff Award, which celebrates excellence in Chicago-area equity theatre. Ms. McCartney has been nominated in the category of “Actress in a Principal Role – Musical” for her performance as Mrs. Lovett in Drury Lane Theatre’s production of SWEENEY TODD. The 44th Annual Jeff Awards ceremony will be held on October 15, 2012 at Drury Lane Oakbrook in Oakbrook Terrance, IL.

Desi Oakley has left as a universal swing and understudy for the Midwife.
Broadway
Vicki Noon has replaced Caroline Bowman in the ensemble and as the understudy for Elphaba.
John Schiappa has left the company as a swing and understudy for Witch’s Father, The Wizard, and Doctor Dillamond.
1st National Tour
Alli Mauzey has left the company as Glinda. Patti Murin will join the company on August 17, replacing Ms. Mauzey as Glinda.
Cliffton Hall has replaced Andy Kelso as Fiyero.
Kim Zimmer has replaced Liz McCartney as Madame Morrible.
Murin, Zimmer & Hall To Join 1st National Tour

This August, Patti Murin, Kim Zimmer and Cliffton Hall will join the 1st National Tour Production of WICKED as Glinda, Madame Morrible, and Fiyero, respectively. They will replace Alli Mauzey, Liz McCartney and Andy Kelso.
Ms. Murin’s credits include the title role in LYSISTRATA JONES on Broadway, as well as understudy for the lead role of Kira in XANADU. She begins performance in WICKED on August 21.
Ms. Zimmer has appeared on television in ONE LIFE TO LIVE and GUIDING LIGHT. Her theater credits include GYPSY and SUNSET BOULEVARD.
Mr. Hall returns to WICKED after having played Fiyero in San Francisco and previously on the 1st National Tour. Other credits include MISS SAIGON and LES MISERABLES.
Ms. Zimmer and Mr. Hall both join the tour on August 14.
O’Malley, McCartney, & Oakley Cast In ANNIE Revival

Three WICKED alums have been cast in the upcoming revival of ANNIE on Broadway. Brynn O’Malley (former Nessarose – 1NT, Braodway) will play “Grace Farrell”. Liz McCartney (Madame Morrible – 1NT) and Desi Oakley (Universal Swing, u/s Midwife) will also appear in the production. Previews for ANINE begin October 3, 2012, with an opening night of November 8. Dashí Mitchell has replaced Nicky Venditti as Chistery. Nicky Venditti is now a swing and understudy for Chistery.
*Liz McCartney has returned to the role of Madame Morrible. Jody Gelb has played Madame Morrible for the past week.
2nd National Tour
*KC Fredericks has returned to the role of Chistery temporarily, replacing Ben Susak.

0- Peter Kevoian (former Wizard – Chicago) was in the Original Broadway Company of “Phantom of the Opera” as the understudy for Monsieur André & Monsieur Firmin. Additionally, Marilyn Caskey (former Madame Morrible – 2nd Ntl. Tour) currently plays Madame Giry on Broadway, but has also performed the role of opera diva Carlotta Guidicelli in the production, who was also performed at one point by Liz McCartney (current Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour). Sara Jean Ford (former ensemble, u/s Glinda, Nessarose – Chicago) performed as the leading role of Christine Daaé in both the Broadway production and on the National Tour of the show.
- Dan’yelle Williamson (former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Chicago) went on to play Nala in the National Tour of “The Lion King” after leaving “Wicked”, before being reunited on Broadway in the show “Memphis” with former “Wicked” Chicago performers Brad Bass (former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – Broadway, Chicago) and Betsy Struxness (former swing, u/s Nessarose – Broadway, Chicago).
- Rachel Potter (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 2nd Ntl. Tour) is a talented country singer in addition to being a Broadway performer. She is currently working on her first EP. (Click here for details.)
