There has been a strong rumor that Lesley McKinnell (former ensemble, u/s Glinda, Nessarose – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former swing, u/s Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour) is returning to the 1NT as Glinda. This is incorrect: Ms. McKinnell will return to the 1NT as an understudy for Glinda.

Please remember that until there is an official press release, all casting rumors, are just that–rumors. Some may turn out to be true, but not all.

- Erin Mackey (former Glinda – Broadway, Los Angeles, Chicago; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Chicago; former swing – 1st Ntl. Tour) did not understudy Glinda on the 1st National Tour – she was only a swing in that production before moving to the Chicago production and understudying Glinda. This also happened to Natalie Daradich (Glinda -2nd Ntl. Tour; former s/b Glinda – San Francisco, Los Angeles; former swing, ensemble, u/s Nessarose – Los Angeles), Emily Ferranti (former ensemble, u/s Glinda, u/s Nessarose, swing – 1st Ntl. Tour), and Lesley McKinnell (former ensemble, u/s Glinda, Nessarose – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former swing, u/s Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour), all three of whom originally understudied Nessarose in their given company but not Glinda until later.

- Tom Flynn (Dr. Dillamond – Broadway; former Dr. Dillamond – 1st Ntl. Tour, San Francisco) and Jody Gelb (Madame Morrible – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former Madame Morrible – San Francisco) previously worked together on Broadway, both in the ensemble of “The Who’s Tommy” in 1993. Lisa Leguillou, the assistant director of “Wicked”, was also in the ensemble of the production.

- Five “Wicked” Broadway alumni made their Broadway debut in the musical “Footloose” – Jennifer Laura Thompson (former Glinda – Broadway), Kathy Deitch (former ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – Broadway), Kristen Leigh Gorski (Witch’s Mother/Ensemble – Broadway; former swing, u/s Witch’s Mother – Broadway),  Lori Holmes (former Witch’s Mother/Ensemble – Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former swing, u/s Witch’s Mother – 1st Ntl. Tour), and Ben Cameron (former ensemble, u/s Witch’s Father – Broadway)
