Block, Grey & Wicks Set For Marvin Hamlisch Celebration

Stephanie J. Block (former Elphaba – Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Pre-Broadway), Joel Grey (The Wizard – Original Broadway Cast), and Teal Wicks (former Elphaba – Broadway, San Francisco, Los Angeles; former s/b Elphaba) are among the artists taking part in the American Cancer Society’s concert, ONE CENTENNIAL SENSATION, which will celebrate the birthday of the late Marvin Hamlisch. The event takes palce June 3, 2013 at the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel 145 West 44th Street in New York City. Cocktails began at 6:00 pm and dinner at 6:45. Grey, Chenoweth & Menzel To Appear In American Songbook Concerts, 2013
0Joel Grey (The Wizard – Original Broadway Cast), Kristin Chenoweth (Glinda – Original Broadway Cast) and Idina Menzel (Elphaba – Original Broadway Cast, Original West End Cast) are among the performers appearing as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series in 2013.
Mr. Grey will appear as a special guest at the February 6 concert, Ring Them Bells! Rob Fisher Celebrates Kander & Ebb at 8:30pm.
Ms. Chenoweth will give two solo concerts on February 15 at 7:30pm & 9:30pm.
Ms. Menzel will appear as a special guest at the March 1 concerts, The Songs of Tom Kitt & Brian Yorkey at 7:30pm & 9:30pm.

Grey & Moran Set For 2012 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program, 7/22-7/29

Joel Grey (The Wizard – Original Broadway Cast) and Martin Moran (former Dr. Dillamond – 2nd Nat’l Tour) will take part in the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program, which is “a week-long master class and immersion experience” in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin from July 22-29, 2012. Mr. Grey will help lead the program, while Mr. Morton was selected to be one of the 2012 Lunt-Fontanne Fellows, and will be among the artists participating.
Five WICKED Performers Set For BROADWAY BARKS

Five current and past performers in WICKED will take part in BROADWAY BARKS, which is “a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies”. The event takes place on July 14, 2012 in Shubert Alley in New York City, New York, beginning at 3:30pm. Celebrity presentations of pets from aniaml shelters begin at 5pm. Joel Grey to Appear at 2012 TCM Film Festival
0Joel Grey (The Wizard – Original Broadway Cast) will appear at the 2012 TCM Classic Film Festival. Mr. Grey is among the stars who will kick off the festival with a 40th anniversary restoration of the film “Cabaret”, the film for which he won an Academy Award. (Mr. Grey also performed “Cabaret” on Broadway, and took home a Tony Award for his work on stage.) The “Cabaret” screening takes place on April 12, 2012 in Hollywood, California. 0Both Joel Grey (Wizard – Original Broadway Cast) and Julia Murney (former Elphaba – Broadway, 1st National Tour) appear in the 1995 television special “The Wizard of Oz in Concert: Dreams Come True”. Mr. Grey, performs as the Wizard, the same role he would later play in WICKED. Ms. Murney performs as one of the background singers.
Idina Menzel (Elphaba – Original Broadway Cast, Original West End Cast) has a song featured on the album Music From and Inspired by Desperate Housewives. The album features songs inspired by the television series. She sings the song. “Damsel in Distress”.
Robert Morse (Wizard – San Francisco Tryout) originated the lead role of “J. Pierrepont Finch” in the Original Broadway production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. He won a TONY Award for his performance, and also performed the role in 1967 film version of the musical.
Erin Mackey to Join Cast of “Anything Goes”
0Erin Mackey (former Glinda – Broadway, Los Angeles, Chicago; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Chicago; former swing – 1st National Tour) will be joining the Broadway company of “Anything Goes” on Tuesday, September 13th in the role of Hope Harcourt. She replaces Laura Osnes, who originated the role on Broadway and will be starring aside “Wicked” alums Joel Grey (former Wizard – Original Broadway Cast) and Colin Donnell (former Fiyero – 2nd National Tour).
