Twelve WICKED Performers Set for SPOTLIGHT ON ST. JUDE

Twelve WICKED performers, past and present, will be performing in the second annual SPOTLIGHT ON ST. JUDE, BROADWAY’S TRIBUTE TO THE KIDS concert. The evening begins at 6 PM, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inside The Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street. The 90-minute show begins at 7 PM and is followed by a dessert reception. VIP tickets also include an exclusive after-party with the cast.
The WICKED alumni who will be performing in this event are: Richard H. Blake (former Fiyero – Asian Tour, Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour), Larkin Bogan (upcoming ensemble, u/s Boq – Broadway), Caroline Bowman (former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway), Anne Brummel (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Pre-Broadway) uses her middle initial in her name because there is a preacher named Stephanie Block, and Stephanie J. Block would often receive emails intended for the preacher, regarding her sermons and theology.
Lisa Brescia (former Elphaba – Chicago; former s/b Elphaba – Broadway) was Mandy Gonzalez’s (former Elphaba – Broadway) standby in AIDA in the role of Amneris.
Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway; former Nessarose, u/s Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour) performed the role of Libby Chessler on the television show SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH.
Several WICKED Alumni Set for CANCER’S EXPENSIVE Benefit

Several WICKED alumni will be featured in an upcoming benefit concert, titled CANCER’S EXPENSIVE. The concert is scheduled for 7 PM on August 26, 2012 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City and will benefit singer-actress Carly Jibson’s mother, who is suffering from stage four lung and bone cancer. The WICKED alumni scheduled to perform in the concert are: Eden Espinosa (former Elphaba – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former s/b Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour; former s/b Elphaba, u/s Nessarose – Broadway), Caissie Levy (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – Los Angeles; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway), Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway; former Nessarose, u/s Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour), Marty Thomas (former ensemble, u/s Boq; former swing, u/s Boq – Broadway) and the cast of Off-Broadway’s FAT CAMP, which included Jared Zirilli (former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour) and Bridie Carroll (ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – 2nd Ntl. Tour).

Several WICKED alumni will participate in the NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL (NYMF), which runs from July 9-29, 2012. NYMF is an annual festival winch presents new musicals. Check out where you can see WICKED alumni!
Ben Vereen (former Wizard – Broadway, Chicago), will be the honorary chairman and host the opening night of NYMF on July 9.
Alex Brightman (former Boq – Broadway) will appear in the musical SIDEKICKS!
Maria Eberline (former ensemble, u/s Elphaba, Nessarose – 1st Nat’l Tour; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway) will appear in the musical ZAPATA! THE MUSICAL.
Michelle Federer (Nessarose – Original Broadway Cast) will appear in the musical HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN?

It was announced this morning that Jared Zirilli (former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour) will be performing the role of Jacob in the “Twilight” reading. This is the role that Taylor Lautner played in the movie.
He joins other “Wicked” alums Colin Hanlon (former Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour) and Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former u/s Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour) as previously announced. Click here for that announcement.

Colin Hanlon & Jenna Leigh Green To Play “Twilight” Reading At New World Stages

Colin Hanlon (former Fiyero – 1st Ntl.) will be reading the role of Edward in an upcoming reading of Twilight: The Musical. Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway, 1st Ntl.; former u/s Elphaba – 1Ntl.) will be reading the roles of Rosalie, Hermione, (et al.). The reading will be presented on January 16.

0Patty Duke (former Madame Morrible – San Francisco) performed the role of “Helen Keller” in the 1962 film The Miracle Worker. In 1979, she appeared in the television movie remake, this time as Keller’s teacher “Annie Sullivan”.
Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway, 1NT; former u/s Elphaba – 1NT), is best known to American television audiences for her role of “Libby Chessler” on the series Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
Tom McGowan (Wizard – 2NT; former Wizard – San Francisco) had recurring roles on the hit television shows Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Marcie Dodd (former Elphaba – San Francisco, 2NT, Broadway; Elphaba s/b – Los Angeles; former Nessarose – Los Angeles; former u/s Elphaba & Nessraose – 1NT), Jenna Leigh Green (former Nessarose – Los Angeles, Broadway, 1NT; former u/s Elphaba – 1NT), and Caroline Keiff (former Nessarose – West End; former u/s Glinda & Nessarose – West End), all understudied leading roles while simultaneously performing the principal role of Nessarose. Ms. Dodd understudied Elphaba while performing Nessarose in Los Angeles. Ms. Green understudied Elphaba while performing Nessarose on the 1st National Tour, and Ms. Keiff understudied Glinda while performing Nessarose on the West End.
Melissa Fahn (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Los Angeles, Broadway) appeared as “Young Ezmerelda”, a very Glinda-like character on the soap opera, PASSIONS. She appeared in a send-off inspired by the musical WICKED.
Aaron J. Albano (ensemble, u/s Boq – Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Boq – 1NT) originated the role of Chip Tolentino in the San Francisco and Boston productions of THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. He later went on to close out the Broadway production of the show.
