Alma Cuervo Cast in FAR FROM HEAVEN at Playwrights Horizons
1Alma Cuervo (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) has been cast in the new musical FAR FROM HEAVEN at Playwrights Horizons, beginning previews May 8th, opening June 2, and closing June 30 at the Playwrights Horizons mainstage theatre. The book is by Richard Greenberg, music by Scott Frankel, and lyrics by Michael Korie.
The new musical is based on the 2002 movie FAR FROM HEAVEN, starring Julianne Moore.

Randy Danson (Madame Morrible – Broadway; former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) was the standby for Jayne Houdyshell (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway) in the Broadway play, WELL.
Alma Cuervo (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour, 2nd Ntl. Tour) and Carole Shelley (former Madame Morrible – Broadway, Chicago, 1st Ntl. Tour) were both replacements for the role of Fraulein Schneider in the most recent Broadway revival of CABARET
Kate Loprest (former ensemble, u/s Glinda, u/s Nessarose – Chicago) replaced Patti Murin (Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour) as a swing and understudy for Clio/Kira in the Broadway production of XANADU.
Youmans and Cuervo to appear in “Titanic” staging
0Two “Wicked” alumni who were featured in original Broadway cast of the musical “Titanic” will appear in a production of the show at the Hanger Theatre in Ithaca, NY from July 12-28, 2012. Alma Cuervo (former Madame Morrible – 2nd National Tour; former Madame Morrible – 1st National Tour) will play the role of Ida Strauss, which she originated on Broadway. William Youmans (former Dr. Dillamond – Chicago; original Dr. Dillamond – Broadway) will play J. Bruce Ismay, a role which he understudied on Broadway, but was originated by David Garrison (former Wizard – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Broadway, Chicago, 1st Ntl. Tour) on Broadway.
Other “Wicked” alumni who appeared in the original cast, but will not be featured in the upcoming production are Martin Moran (former Dr. Dillamond – 2nd Ntl. Tour), Jody Gelb (former Madame Morrible – 2nd Ntl. Tour, San Francisco), Melissa Bell Chait (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Broadway, Pre-Broadway). Sean McCourt (former Dr. Dillamond – Broadway, original Witch’s Father, u/s Dr. Dillamond, u/s Wizard – Broadway, Pre-Broadway), Matthew Stocke (former Witch’s Father, u/s Wizard, Dr. Dillamond – Los Angeles), and Stacie Morgain Lewis (former Glinda – Chicago; former Glinda s/b – Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Glinda, u/s Nessarose – Broadway) all later joined the production as replacements.

Alma Cuervo Is “Cinderella’s Stepmother” In INTO THE WOODS, Through 5/26
1Alma Cuervo (former Madame Morrible – 1NT, 2NT) is currently performing as “Cinderella’s Stepmother” in INTO THE WOODS. The production runs until April 15, 2012 at CENTERSTAGE in Baltimore, Maryland. The production then moves to the Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, Connecticut from May 1-26, 2012.

0- Alma Cuervo (Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour; former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour, 2nd Ntl. Tour) and Renee Lawless-Orsini (Midwife; u/s Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) both played the role of Mrs. Potts in “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway – Ms. Cuervo was the principal and Ms. Lawless-Orsini was the understudy. Now, Ms. Lawless-Orsini is understudying Ms. Cuervo as Madame Morrible on the “Wicked” 1st National Tour.
- Prior to performing in “Wicked”, Amanda Jane Cooper (Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour) attended master classes taught by Stephen Schwartz and Megan Hilty (former Glinda – Los Angeles, 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway; former s/b Glinda – Broadway).
- Stefanie Brown (Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Glinda, Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour) made her stage debut at age eight as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.” Funnily enough, though she was a Glinda understudy on the 1st Ntl. Tour, she was not in the track that plays Dorothy in the melting scene (that is the other Glinda cover track, and it belonged at the time to Marissa Lupp (Swing – 1st Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour).

Libby Servais (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Broadway; former s/b Glinda – San Francisco; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 2nd Ntl. Tour) has returned to the Broadway Production, replacing Heather Spore (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – Broadway) on a temporary basis.
1st National Tour
Alma Cuervo (former Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour) has replaced Randy Danson as Madame Morrible.
Antonette Cohen (formerly Antonette Balestreri) has returned to the ensemble, replacing Yanira Marin.
Nicky Venditti has replaced Spencer Jones in the ensemble and as an understudy for Chistrey. Previously, Mr. Vendetti has performed in San Francisco production and 2nd National Touring production.
Michael Mahany has replaced Corey Mach in the ensemble and as an understudy for Fiyero.

0Several former and current Wicked cast members were in the original Broadway cast of the musical Titanic: Alma Cuervo (former Morrible — 1NT), David Garrison (former Wizard — 1NT, Broadway, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco) Jody Gelb (Morrible — 2NT; former Morrible — San Francisco), Martin Moran (Dillamond — 2NT), William Youmans (former Dillamond – Broadway, Chicago), and Melissa Bell Chait (former ensemble, u/s Glinda — Broadway). Additionally, Sean McCourt (former Dillamond — Broadway) join the show later in its run.
Tiffany Haas (former ensemble, u/s Glinda — 2NT; former swing, u/s Nessarose — Broadway) competed in the Miss America pageant in 2002m representing Ohio.
The two women who have been the principle Glinda on the second national tour, Helene Yorke (former Glinda — 2NT) and Natalie Daradich (Glinda — 2NT; former s/b Glinda – Los Angeles, San Francisco; former swing, u/s Glinda, u/s Nessarose – Los Angeles), are both Canadian.
