Carrie Manolakos To Perform At Joe’s Pub 5/26 & 5/27
Carrie Manolakos (former s/b Elphaba – San Francisco, 2NT) will give two performances at Joe’s Pub in New York City, New York. The performances are May 26, 2012 at 9:30 pm and May 27, 2012 at 11:30 pm. Tickets have sold out for the May 26 performance, but you can still buy tickets for May 27 show for $15 here Ms. Manolakos’s debut solo album, ECHO is also available. A Conversation With and Tribute To Stephen Schwartz Takes Place 5/19
Stephen Schwartz, the composer and lyricist of WICKED, will be honored by Desert Ensemble Theatre Company at ” When You Believe: A Conversation With and Tribute To Stephen Schwartz” in Palm Springs, California on May 19, 2012. The event takes place at 8pm in the Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum. There will be a conversation with Mr. Schwartz, as well as performances of his work. Alexa Green Appears In SPEARGROVE PRESENTS 5/14 – 5/16
Alexa Green (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – San Francisco, Los Angeles) will appear in SPEARGROVE PRESENTS, a developmental production of a new musical.
SPEARGROVE PRESENTS is about two Texas families who “struggle with a community battle” over a high school production of RENT. The musical is inspired by true-life events. The show is currently running and has two more performances on May 15, 2012 at 2pm and May 16, 2012 at 7pm. Performances take place at The Cell in New York City, New York. Teals Wicks To Perform At Wicked-Themed Gala, 5/19
Teal Wicks (former Elphaba – Broadway, San Francisco, Los Angeles; former s/b Elphaba – Los Angeles) will be among the performers at “Wickedly Magical Evening in Oz” a Wicked-themed gala on May 19, 2012 at 6:00 pm at the Sacramento Convention Center Ballroom in Sacramento, California. The gala will benefit California Musical Theatre, which is bringing the 1st National Tour of WICKED to Sacramento from May 23-June 17.

Dee Roscioli to perform in free “Trunk and Disorderly” concert
Dee Roscioli (former Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway, Chicago; former s/b Elphaba – San Francisco, Chicago) will perform in Trunk and Disorderly: Songs from the Deep, Dark, Trunk of Jeff Blumenkrantz on May 14, 2012 at 6:30 PM. This event is free of charge and will be held at the York Theatre in New York City. Drew Gehling, Dee Hoty, Sarah Stiles, and Jeff Blumenkrantz will also be featured in the event. Kristine Reese to Perform “The Beat Goes On!” with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
Kristine Reese (former Nessarose – 2nd Ntl. Tour, 1st Ntl. Tour; former swing, u/s Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour) will be performing “The Beat Goes On!” with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from May 17 – May 20, 2012. Also performing will be Farah Alvin, NKenge, Joe Cassidy, and Roy Chicas. The concert will be conducted by Jack Everly.
Ms. Reese has performed this concert with several international symphony orchestras, most recently in Naples earlier this year.
The description on the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra website reads, “Join the BSO and Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly as we turn back the clock to the 1960s when the “Fab Four” took the world by storm, the Beach Boys made summer “endless,” and the Supremes put Motown on the map. Reminisce with music from television and movie themes, as well as popular hits from the airwaves including music by Burt Bacharach and Frankie Valli.”

Several “Wicked” Alumni to be featured in “Imagine: A Celebration of Life”
Several current and former “Wicked” cast members will be featured in the benefit concert, Imagine: A Celebration of Life on May 7 at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan at 7 PM. This event is presented by University Hospitals Case Medical Center’s Seidman Cancer Center and is led by Betsy Werbel (ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – 1st Ntl. Tour). The concert is in honor of Ms. Werbel’s brother, Brian, who passed away on May 7, 2007 at the age of 29. The Brian Werbel Memorial Fund was established in memory of his life and to advance cancer research. Several Wicked alumni, as well as cast members from other Broadway shows will be featured at this event, including Shoshana Bean (former Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway; former Elphaba s/b – Broadway), Richard H. Blake (Fiyero – Broadway; former Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour), Jennifer DiNoia (upcoming s/b Elphaba – Asia Tour; former s/b Elphaba – Broadway, Sydney, Chicago; former swing, u/s Elphaba, u/s Nessarose – Chicago), Marty Thomas (former ensemble, u/s Boq – Broadway), Adinah Alexander (former Midwife, ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – Broadway), Ben Liebert (former Boq – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway), as well as Ms. Werbel herself.
