Join Our pOZcast Staff!

0

Innuendo & Outuendo is now accepting applications for a new standby pOZcaster. Due to the extension of the length of the pOZcast, Dana has moved up from standby to being on the pOZcast each week.

Our standby should expect to be on the pOZcast approximately once per month whenever one of our other staff members is ill or unable to appear for any reason. Appearances may be in any part of the pOZcast, including but not limited to Introduction, News, Media, Exclusive Interviews, and Sessions with Kristine.

As the pOZcast is recorded in parts, it is very easy-going, and most parts can be recorded at your leisure. We can assist you in learning how to record.

If you are interested in applying, please click here to fill out the application form. From there, each applicant will have an informal Skype interview with Isaac and Christina.

Applications are due by Tuesday, April 2 at 5:00 pm EST.

We will be interviewing Caroline Bowman (former ensemble, u/s Elphaba) as part of our pOzcast very soon and we are asking our readers to send in questions that you would like us to ask her! You can send the questions to our Twitter page (@wicked_blog), our Facebook page (Innuendo & Outuendo), or e-mail them to us at editor@innuendoandoutuendo.com! We look forward to hearing your questions!

REMINDER: The deadline for last week’s trivia questions is December 9 at Eastern US time.

Last week’s questions were:

What other musical besides DeeDee Magno Hall and Cliffton Hall appear in together?

Which former WICKED standby has a Tony Award nomination for her work in another show? Name the performer and the show.

Innuendo & Outuendo To Offer Weekly Podcast

0

The staff at Innuendo & Outuendo is pleased to announce that we will be offering a weekly podcast beginning next Tuesday, November 20, 2012. The podcast will be available via the blog and iTunes.

Each week, the podcast will quickly cover news and recent media we have found online in the first section. In the second section, we will have a variety of less formal material, including but not limited to – a panel discussion of recent “Wicked” news (with two intelligent and thoughtful panelists you will have the pleasure of meeting next week in the podcast with more to join soon), trivia contests (with prizes), fan opinion segments, AND, interviews with “Wicked” cast members and alumni (yes, we already have a couple lined up!), and much more as we come up with ideas!

Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions – and let us know if you are excited about this! If people enjoy it, we will keep it going!

Staff Changes

0

Good afternoon, readers! Some exciting staff changes are coming on Innuendo & Outuendo, and I am thrilled to be informing you of them.

Firstly, on a bittersweet note, as of today, I have stepped down as Head Editor after nearly three years? Why? When I founded this blog, I had much more time than I do now and actually had time to post every day, running it on my own until I found my fabulous co-head editor, Christina Daniels, then Jessica Barnett and Rachel Kettles to assist further, and later, Shira Harris and Jonathan Cort. At this point, I am assisting with some posts and helping a lot “behind the scenes”, but not posting as much.

Due to this, we have named Christina Daniels as Managing Editor of the blog – she came on staff and has been a huge asset to the blog since January 2010, and a wonderful friend to me for even longer. She currently, and truly has since the summer, conducts day-to-day operation of the blog, and it has recently become clear to me that with my busy schedule, this is going to be a lengthy, if not permanent change. With this change, Jonathan Cort has been named an editor, as he contributes constantly and is responsible for cast updates each week. Of course, I will also mention the lovely Shira Harris, who like me, has a very busy schedule, but is a fabulous writer and helps us out regularly on the blog with her enthusiasm and writing skills.

At this point, I will henceforth no longer be known as HEAD Editor, but as simply…. Advising Editor (sorry, corny reference). I will still do lots of behind the scenes work, including managing interviews, staff scheduling, and of course, occasionally posting.

Thank you, readers, for being a fabulous group of people to work for, and please welcome our lovely new leader with the same enthusiasm you’ve always given me!

Addendum: Donation Page for Carly Jibson’s Mother

On August 8, we posted an article about several WICKED alumni performing in a concert, benefiting Carly Jibson’s mother, who is suffering from stage four lung and bone cancer. We would also like to make it aware that there is a donation page online, to raise money for treatment for Ms. Jibson’s mother, Renee Zimmerman. The page is called Friends of Renee Zimmerman and can be accessed using the following link: www.giveforward.com/friendsofreneezimmerman.

Vote for Heather Spore’s Sister!

This is a different kind of post than we usually do, but we deemed this important enough to post about:

Tiffany Callaghan, sister of Heather Spore (ensemble; u/s Glinda – Broadway) is up to win SHAPE Magazine’s “Inspirational Zumba Instructor Search” – and she needs your help. Click here and search “Tiffany Callaghan”, click “VOTE”, then fill out the next page and click “VOTE” again. Today is the last day of voting, so please click now and vote for her.

Let’s help our “Wicked” (extended) family with our support!

Innuendo & Outuendo Hits 1000 Posts

We are pleased to announce that Innuendo & Outuendo has reached a milestone: This post marks the 1000th entry. This blog was begun in November 2009 by Isaac. Initially, Isaac ran the blog solo, and soon the blog grew to include a co-editor, along with several staff writers. We would like to thank those staff writers, past and present: Shira, Jonathan, Jessica, and Rachel. We thank them for their entries and their help in maintaining the message board. Without them, the blog would not have been able to grow as it has.

The drawing above was drawn by staff writer Shira. Thank you, Shira!

Introducing Jonathan

We are pleased today to welcome Jonathan Cort as a new writer here at Innuendo & Outuendo. Many of you know him as an afficionado of the show who is very active on the fan pages on Facebook. He has regularly submitted articles to us for publication and we recently reached an agreement with him to join our staff. Please join us in welcoming Jonathan!

Jonathan (Writer) is an avid theatre fan and has seen Wicked 17 times between the Broadway production and both U.S. national tours. Some of his other favorite shows are Next to Normal, Billy Elliot, American Idiot, Hair, Ragtime, Rent, and In the Heights. He enjoys travel and studying foreign languages.

A New Head Shiztress Here At “Innuendo and Outuendo”

I apologize for the corny title; I couldn’t help myself!

As you may have noticed, most of the posts on this site lately have been authored by Christina, who has in the past been a co-editor, and we’ve had a running joke that she is the understudy for the head editor (me, Isaac). Due to my hectic schedule lately between college courses and teaching, she has effectively taken over the site, and as such, will now be considered the co-head editor, as she is just as involved in the decision making and posting as I am, if not more so.

I have been blessed during my time here to have delightful and insightful contributors, especially Christina – she joined in January 2010 after the blog opened in November 2009 and has been an integral part of the success of this blog, from general assistance to fantastic ideas – such as Nessa’s Niblets, something we began in January 2011 that was conceived by her.

Please join me in welcoming the fabulous Christina as a co-head editor on the site. We know that with your help, we can make this site continue to be as fantastic and reliable of a news source as possible!
