Martyn Ellis to Join West End Company of WICKED

Martyn Ellis

Martyn Ellis will join the cast of the West End company of WICKED on February 17, in the role of The Wizard. He replaces Sam Kelly, who has withdrawn from the production due to ill health.

Mr. Ellis received a Whatsonstage Award for his performance as Nicely Nicely Johnson in the 2005 West End revival of GUYS AND DOLLS. He more recently starred as Harry Dangle in ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS at London’s National Theatre, in the West End and on Broadway and as Alfred P. Doolittle in MY FAIR LADY at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre. Other major theatre roles include Pumbaa in THE LION KING (original London cast), Hermann Preysing in GRAND HOTEL and Thenardier in LES MISÉRABLES.
