Caissie Levy

Caissie Levy (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – Los Angeles; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway) will be portraying the role of Fantine in Les Miserables starting in early 2014. In addition to Ms. Levy, Carmen Cusack (former Elphaba – 1NT; former s/b Elphaba – Chicago, Melbourne), Kerry Ellis (former Elphaba – West End, Broadway; former s/b Elphaba – Original West End Cast), Patrice Tipoki (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – Sydney; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Melbourne) have also played the role in various productions around the world. Dianne Pilkington (former Glinda, former s/b Glinda – West End) understudied for the role when she was in the West End company back in 1997.

Ana Gasteyer (former Elphaba – Broadway, Chicago) took over the role of Columbia in the 2000 revival of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. In addition, during ‘The Time Warp’ instrumental solo that is played by Columbia, Ms. Gasteyer actually played the violin as her instrument of choice. She has been playing the violin since she was five.

Before making it to Broadway in shows such as IN THE HEIGHTS and WICKED, Mandy Gonzalez (former Elphaba-Broadway) made her broadway debut as a leading lady in the short-lived show, DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, alongside Michael Crawford. The show only lasted 53 performances and lost $12 million. Though it didn’t do well here in the United States, it was a huge hit in Germany and Austria.
