Understudies from several Broadway musicals will perform a concert on November 24 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. According to press notes, “BroadwayUnderstudies.com has once again invited some of Broadway’s most talented understudies to the stage…to share their rare talent — the ability to perform at a second’s notice. Half Hour 4: A Last Minute Concert, a show where even they don’t know what they’ll be singing before they step up to the microphone. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing.” Among the understudies set to perform for the night are Wicked alums KJ Hippensteel (former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – 2nd Ntl. Tour), current standby for Elder Price in THE BOOK OF MORMON, and Billy Harrigan Tighe (former Fiyero – 2nd Ntl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – 2nd Ntl. Tour), who is currently performing in the ensemble of PIPPIN. The show is produced by Shoshana Feinstein with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala.
The concert beings at 9:30 PM. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located at 407 W. 42nd Street and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 (cash only) at the door. There is a $15 food/drink minimum. For more information and tickets, click here.
