Casting Announced for Australia/New Zealand Tour of WICKED

The cast for the upcoming Australia/New Zealand tour of WICKED has been announced. For the entire tour, Jemma Rix (former Elphaba – Asian Tour, Australian Tour, Sydney, Melbourne) will play Elphaba, Steve Danielsen will play Fiyero, Maggie Kirkpatrick (former Madame Morrible – Asian Tour, Australian Tour, Sydney, Melbourne) will play Madame Morrible, Emily Cascarino will play Nessarose, Edward Grey will play Boq and Glen Hogstrom (former Wizard – Asian Tour; former Dr. Dillamond, u/s Wizard) will play Doctor Dillamond. Ali Calder will be the standby for Elphaba. For the Auckland season, Suzie Mathers (former Glinda – Asian Tour; former Midwife, ensemble, u/s Glinda – Australian Tour; former swing – Sydney, Melbourne) will play Glinda and Jay Laga’aia will play The Wizard. Beginning with the Melbourne season, Lucy Durack (former t/r Glinda – Asian Tour; former Glinda – Australian Tour, Sydney, Melbourne) will play Glinda. The actor playing the role of The Wizard for the Australian dates has yet to be announced.

The ensemble will include Justin Anderson, Daniel Assetta, Dion Bilios, Rachel Cole, Danielle Cook, Daniel Downing, Danielle Evrat, Mitch Fistrovic, Tom Handley, Emma Hawthorne, Matt Holly, Angela Lumicisi, Katie McKee, Kassie Martin, John O’Hara, Deanna O’Leary, Joseph O’Sullivan, Justine Puy, Chris Scalzo, Pharic Scott, Ryan Sheppard, Ellen Sutton, Monica Swayne and Sophie Wright.

WICKED will play the Civic Theatre in Auckland, New Zealand September 17-October 20. The production will then play the Regent Theatre in Melbourne, Australia for a strictly limited season beginning May 10, 2014. The production will continue on to Sydney and Brisbane.
