Caissie Levy (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – Los Angeles; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway) has been cast in the upcoming return engagement of the musical MURDER BALLAD. MURDER BALLAD played an acclaimed, sold-out engagement at Manhattan Theatre Club’s The Studio at Stage II and will transfer to Off-Broadway’s Union Square Theatre this spring. The nine-week engagement will begin May 7 with an official opening May 22. Ms. Levy will play the leading role of Sara.
MURDER BALLAD received five Lucille Lortell nominations, including Best Musical. “A love triangle gone wrong,” MURDER BALLAD, according to press notes, “centers on Sara, an Upper West Sider who seems to have it all, but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her. This sexy, explosive new musical explores the complications of love, the compromises we make, and the betrayals that can ultimately undo us.”
