Jeremy McQueen Among Recipients of Joffrey’s Choreographers of Color Award

Jeremy McQueen (former ensemble – 1st Ntl. Tour) will receive the Joffrey Academy of Dance’s Third Annual Choreographers of Color Award. McQueen is among three selected choreographers for this award.

Each of the winners will present a world-premiere piece at the CHOREOGRAPHERS OF 2013: WINNING WORKS ceremony on March 10, 2013 at 4 PM. This ceremony will be held at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Chicago. Costumes for McQueen’s piece will be designed by fashion designer LaQuan Smith.

The Choreographers of Color Award was created to “recognize promising young minority choreographers whose diverse perspective will ignite creativity in the field of dance.” The Harris Theater for Music and Dance is located at 205 E. Randolph Drive in Chicago, IL.
