1st National Tour of “Wicked” Loses Power Due to Fire

Below are two articles about the first national tour of “Wicked” losing power due to a fire in New Orleans at an abandoned hotel. I was actually at the show when this happened – in the scene after “Wonderful”, there was a bang and the entire theatre blacked out. It was hot, crazy, and boring – but then Donna Vivino & Chandra Lee Schwartz came out, along with an upright piano, and performed “For Good” with stagehands holding up flashlights to illuminate them – it was handled very well, and most patrons were not overly upset about the situation. In addition to this, Donna Vivino came out the stagedoor still green – it was quite funny.

  1. Rach says:

Wow – did they perform the song micless, then?

  2. Isaac says:

Yep, they just belted it out!

  3. Donna Vivino says:

I guess I have a crazy story now after all about a “mishap” during the show.

  4. Isaac says:

That you do! 🙂 You and Chandra made that magical, though. I feel bad for those who’ve not seen the show, but I don’t feel like I missed anything.
