On January 30, the songs of the hit ABC/CMT show “Nashville” will be performed by a host of Broadway favorites. WICKED alums scheduled to perform are “Nashville” star Kyle Dean Massey (former Fiyero – Broadway, 1st Natl. Tour; former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – Broadway, 1st Natl. Tour), Jackie Burns (former Elphaba – Broadway, 1st Natl. Tour), Patti Murin (former Glinda – 1st Natl. Tour), and Ginna Claire Mason (Glinda s/b – Broadway).
Nashville features a soundtrack of original country music songs.

Telly Leung (former Boq – Chicago) will take over the title role in Broadway’s ALADDIN, replacing Adam Jacobs. The date for Leung’s debut has not been set.
Most recently, Leung departed the Broadway production of IN TRANSIT due to an unexpected family obligation. He also played opposite George Takei in ALLEGIANCE. Leung’s other Broadway credits include GODSPELL and FLOWER DRUM SONG.
The producers of IN TRANSIT have announced that Colin Hanlon (former Fiyero – 1st Natl. Tour) will replace Telly Leung (former Boq – Chicago) in the role of Steven in Broadway’s first a capella musical. Leung has departed the production due to an unexpected family obligation. Hanlon begins performances on January 10.
Full casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Roald Dahl’s CHARLIE IN THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. The cast includes Kathy Fitzgerald (former Madame Morrible – Broadway, 2nd Natl. Tour), F. Michael Haynie (former Boq – Broadway), Michael Wartella (former Boq – Broadway, 2nd Natl. Tour), Kristy Cates (former Elphaba, former s/b Elphaba – Chicago; former ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway), Paul Slade Smith (former Dr. Dillamond – 1st Natl. Tour, San Francisco; former Witch’s Father, u/s Dr. Dillamond, Wizard – 1st Natl. Tour), Amy Quanbeck (former ensemble – 2nd Natl. Tour) and Mikey Winslow (former ensemble, u/s Boq – 1st Natl. Tour).
Directed by Jack O’Brien, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY features music by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. The book is by David Greigand with choreography by Joshua Bergasse.
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is set to begin performances on March 28 with an official opening on April 23. Tickets range from $69-$160 and are available at ticketmaster.com.

The WICKED 2nd National Tour will welcome three new stars during its current three week run in East Lansing, Michigan. Isabel Keating will take over the role of Madame Morrible from Wendy Worthington. Ms. Keating was nominated for a Tony and won the Drama Desk Award for playing Judy Garland in THE BOY FROM OZ. She’s also starred in HAIRSPRAY, ENCHANTED APRIL, SPIDERMAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, and IT’S ONLY A PLAY. Fred Applegate takes over the role of The Wizard from Stuart Zagnit. He previously performed the role on Broadway. Andy Mientus will play the role of Boq, taking over from Sam Seferian. Mr. Mientus is best known for is role as Kyle Bishop on the television show “Smash”.
They join a cast that includes Jessica Vosk as Elphaba, Amanda Jane Cooper as Glinda, Chad Jennings as Dr. Dillamond, Kristen Martin as Nessarose, and Jeremy Woodard as Fiyero. Emily Schultheis is the Elphaba stand-by. Kara Lindsay will return to the role of Glinda in the Broadway company of WICKED beginning Tuesday, November 1. Previously, Ms. Lindsay performed the role of Glinda on Broadway and the 2nd National Tour. She takes over the role from Carrie St. Louis. As previously announced, Sheryl Lee Ralph will take on the role of Madame Morrible, also on November 1. They will be joining a cast that includes Jennifer DiNoia as Elphaba, Michael Campayno as Fiyero, Peter Scolari as The Wizard, Dawn E. Cantwell as Nessarose, Zachary Noah Piser as Boq, and Michael Genet as Dr. Dillamond.

The concert, which will celebrate the music of Grammy winner Beyonce, is scheduled for November 7 and is set to include some of her biggest chart toppers, including “Halo”, “Single Ladies”, “Love on Top”, and “Irreplaceable” as well as from Destiny’s Child. The music will be orchestrated and arranged by Joshua Stephen Kartes. Broadway Sings Beyonce will be produced and directed by Corey Mach.

Sheryl Lee Ralph
The Broadway Company of WICKED will welcome Sheryl Lee Ralph in the role of Madame Morrible on November 1. Current Madame Morrible, Judy Kaye, will take her final bow on October 30. Ms. Ralph is best known for her Tony nominated performance in DREAMGIRLS. She also originated the role of Muzzy Van Hossmere in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. She’s also been seen on television in “Moesha”, “Ray Donovan”, and “Instant Mom”.
Ms. Ralph joins a cast that includes Jennifer DiNoia as Elphaba, Carrie St. Louis as Glinda, Peter Scolari as The Wizard, Michael Campayno as Fiyero, Dawn E. Cantwell as Nessarose, Michael Genet as Dr. Dillamond, and Zachary Noah Piser as Boq.
Broadway veteran Mamie Parris (former Elphaba – 1st Natl. Tour) will succeed pop star Leona Lewis in the part of Grizabella in the revival of CATS. Ms. Parris is currently starring as Patty in SCHOOL OF ROCK, a role she created.
CATS is composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It originally ran for 7,485 performances. The creative team for the new production includes scenic and costume design by John Napier, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Mick Potter, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne. The director is Trevor Nunn.
Ms. Lewis will complete her three month run on October 9. A date for Ms. Parris’ debut has not been set.
Christine Dwyer (former Elphaba – Broadway; former s/b Elphaba – Broadway; former Elphaba, s/b Elphaba, ensemble, u/s Elphaba – 2nd Natl. Tour) has been cast in the upcoming tour of FINDING NEVERLAND. The Broadway musical FINDING NEVERLAND is based on the 2004 Academy Award winning movie of the same name by David Magee and the play “The Man Who Was Peter Pan” by Allan Knee. It follows the story of J.M. Barrie and the family who inspired Peter Pan. This Tony Award winning musical is set to begin touring the country on October 7 in Buffalo, NY.
