Annie Funke Cast in CBS Pilot, ‘LFE’

Annie Funke (former ensemble, u/s Madame Morrible – San Francisco) has been cast in the upcoming CBS medical drama pilot, LFE. Written/co-executive produced by Paul Downs Colaizzo, LFE is described as “a high-octane medical procedural centering on second-year residents at New York City’s top hospital as they  attempt to balance their god complexes with their humanity.”

Funke will play the role of Chelsi, a genius resident who works in the hospital’s internal wing.

Cast Updates: January-February 2015

Broadway

Christine Dwyer has temporarily returned to the role of Elphaba, replacing Caroline Bowman who will return to the company in March.

Catherine Charlebois has temporarily replaced Kelli Barrett as Nessarose. Ms. Barrett will be originating the role of Lara Guishar in the Broadway production of DOCTOR ZHIVAGO.

Tess Soltau has replaced Tiffany Haas as the standby for Glinda.

Adam Fleming has replaced Eddie Pendergraft in the ensemble and as an understudy for Boq.

Lindsay Janisse has joined the company as a swing and understudy for the Witch’s Mother.

Desi Oakley has replaced Emily Ferranti as a swing and understudy for Nessarose and the Midwife.

William Ryall has replaced Wade McCollum as the Witch’s Father and as an understudy for The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond.

Ryan Vasquez has replaced Jonathan Ritter in the ensemble and as an understudy for Fiyero.

Michael Williams has replaced Gregory Haney in the ensemble.

1st National Tour

Jennifer DiNoia has replaced Emma Hunton as Elphaba.

Ashley Dawn Mortensen has replaced Stephanie Torns in the ensemble and as the understudy for Elphaba.

Erin Wilson has replaced Dina Bennett as the Midwife. Innuendo & Outuendo is sad to report that Ms. Bennett passed away on January 11, after a battle with cancer.

West End

Emma Hatton has replaced Jennifer DiNoia as Elphaba.

Natalie Andreou has replaced Emma Hatton as the standby for Elphaba.

Melissa Jacques has replaced Lucyelle Cliffe as the Midwife and understudy for Madame Morrible.

2nd National Tour

Alyssa Fox has replaced Laurel Harris as Elphaba.

Liana Hunt has replaced Emily Behny as Nessarose.

Emily Koch has replaced Alyssa Fox as the standby for Elphaba.

Carrie St. Louis (Glinda – 2nd Ntl. Tour) and Lauren Zakrin (former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour) both portrayed Sherrie Christian in ROCK OF AGES. Cristy Candler (former Nessarose – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway; former Witch’s Mother, u/s Nessarose – Broadway, Pre-Broadway) also performed in the Broadway cast.

Shoshana Bean (former Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour, Broadway; former s/b Elphaba, u/s Nessarose – Broadway) and Jenn Gambatese (former Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour) were both part of the opening night cast of HAIRSPRAY on Broadway.  Other WICKED cast members to perform in HAIRSPRAY include Curt Hansen (former Fiyero – 1st Ntl. Tour), Alli Mauzey (former Glinda – 1st Ntl. Tour, San Francisco, Broadway; former s/b Glinda – Broadway), Hayley Podschun (former Glinda – 2nd Ntl. Tour), and Donna Vivino (former s/b Elphaba – Broadway, 1st Ntl. Tour; former Elphaba – 1st Ntl. Tour). 

Kara Lindsay (Glinda – Broadway, former Glinda – 2nd Ntl. Tour) and Liana Hunt (Nessarose – 2nd Ntl. Tour) both portrayed Katherine Plumber in NEWSIES. Julie Reiber (former s/b Elphaba – Broadway, Los Angeles) was also in NEWSIES.

Congratulations to Jenni Barber (former Glinda – Broadway), William Youmans (original Dr. Dillamond – Broadway), and Mikey Winslow (former ensemble, u/s Boq – 1st Ntl. Tour) for being cast in the Encores! production of PAINT YOUR WAGON, running March 18-22, 2015.

Per the press release, “The show, set in a mining camp in Gold Rush-era California, is the story of a dreaming gold miner and his daughter whose world is changed when the daughter finds gold-and love-near their camp.”

Wicked 2nd National Tour to Present WITCHES’ NIGHT OFF in Atlanta

Witches Night Off 2nd National Tour 2015On Monday March 2, members of the 2nd National Tour will present WITCHES’ NIGHT OFF in Atlanta, Georgia. Net benefits from the performance will got to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and Joining Hearts, Inc. Produced by members of WICKED, this evening gives them an opportunity to perform some of their favorite non-Ozian material.

The event will be held at the Ferst Center for the Arts of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Performance will begin at 7:30 and will include a special guest performance by Tony and Grammy award winner, Jennifer Holliday. The event will also include live auctions featuring opportunities to join the company backstage at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre.

VIP admission is $100, which includes a pre-show reception with Tony and Grammy Award winner, Jennifer Holliday and WICKED cast members, preferred seating, and a gift.
