Lisa Brescia (former Elphaba – Chicago; former s/b Elphaba – Broadway) has been cast as The Witch in Playmakers Repertory Company’s upcoming production of INTO THE WOODS. The production will run November 1 through December 7 in rotating repertory with A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. Performances will be at the Paul Green Theatre on the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill campus.

Nicole Parker (former Elphaba – 1st Natl. Tour, Broadway) is set to perform in the Labor Day Capitol Concert on the West Lawn of the US Capitol. According to Playbill, “The concert will feature patriotic favorites, including Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” “America the Beautiful” and Randol Alan Bass’ “A New Birth of Freedom,” a setting of the Gettysburg Address for orchestra and speaker.” The concert will also feature songs from several Broadway shows including WICKED, SOUTH PACIFIC, and LES MISERABLES.
The concert will be held at 8pm on August 31st, and gates open at 3pm. Admission is free.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.
Jennifer DiNoia (s/b Elphaba – Broadway; former Elphaba – 2nd Natl. Tour; former s/b Elphaba – Asian Tour, Sydney, Chicago; former t/r ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway; former swing, Asst. Dance Captain, u/s Elphaba, u/s Nessarose – Chicago) and Carla Stickler (ensemble, u/s Elphaba – Broadway; former s/b Elphaba, u/s Nessarose, former ensemble, u/s Elphaba, u/s Nessarose – 1st Natl. Tour) will appear at BROADWAY FANTASY CAMP’S ALL DAY BROADWAY: WICKED. Joining DiNoia and Stickler will be Jason Yarcho, previous conductor for the 1st National Tour of WICKED. The event is set for October 18.
BROADWAY FANTASY CAMP is the ultimate experience for any adult looking to savor the spotlight down center or in the chorus, despite talent or experience level. At Broadway Fantasy Camp, theatre lovers will “defy gravity” as they spend a day immersed in the world of this Broadway hit.
Participants will meet in a Broadway rehearsal studio and work with Broadway professionals to create a customized presentation, to be presented for family and friends. As a bonus, professional headshots will be taken. After the presentation is complete, participants will enjoy a performance of WICKED from their VIP seats and autographs can be signed at Broadway Fantasy Camp’s own post-show reception at Sardi’s.

Nikki Davis-Jones (former Elphaba – UK/Ireland Tour; former s/b Elphaba – West End), who has been starring in the UK/Ireland Tour of Wicked for the past year, has had to withdraw from the production with immediate effect and will not now take over the role of Elphaba in the West End as previously announced.
Jemma Alexander will play Elphaba for the remainder of the engagement at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Ashleigh Gray takes over the role, as previously announced, from September 16 at the Liverpool Empire and for the remainder of the UK tour. A further casting announcement will be made about the London production.
Michael McCabe, Executive Producer of the UK productions of WICKED said: “Nikki Davis-Jones has been an absolutely extraordinary Elphaba on the UK Tour of WICKED, earning herself rave reviews in every city we have played. So we are all extremely sorry that she has had to withdraw from the tour and will be unable to join the London cast as previously announced. We all fully support Nikki’s position and very much look forward to working with her again in the future”.
Annaleigh Ashford (former Glinda – Chicago, Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Glinda – 1st Natl. Tour), Ana Gasteyer (former Elphaba – Broadway, Chicago) and Michael McCorry Rose (ensemble, u/s Fiyero – Broadway; former ensemble, u/s Fiyero – 2nd Natl. Tour) will be featured in Bay Area Cabaret’s lineup for its 11th season.
Ms. Gasteyer and Mr. Rose will perform in the opening night gala, CELEBRATING STEPHEN SCHWARTZ on September 27 at 8 PM. Mr. Schwartz will also perform his own work and will be interviewed on stage by ASCAP’s Director of Musical Theatre Michael Kerker.
Ms. Ashford will perform LOST IN THE STARS on April 19 at 7:30 PM. Having recently performed this same show to rave reviews at New York’s 54 Below, this will mark Ms. Ashford’s West Coast cabaret debut.
Both CELEBRATING STEPHEN SCHAWRTZ and LOST IN THE STARS will be performed at the Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco.

1st National Tour
Stephanie Torns has replaced Shayla Beck in the ensemble and as the understudy for Elphaba.
Cassie Okenka has replaced Nikki Bohne in the ensemble and as an understudy for Glinda. Ms. Okenka has also replaced Shayla Beck as an understudy for Nessarose.
Adam Perry has replaced John Carroll in the ensemble.
2nd National Tour
Emily Behny has returned to the company, replacing Catherine Charlebois who was covering her leave of absence.

Whiskeyland! will feature Christine Dwyer (Elphaba – Broadway; former s/b Elphaba – Broadway; former Elphaba, s/b Elphaba, ensemble, u/s Elphaba – 2nd Ntl. Tour) as the bartender Marianne, Eric Anderson (from Soul Doctor and the Last Ship) as her brother, the alcoholic rockstar Juno, Adam Hose (from Finding Nemo the Musical) as the angel Kid Kaymin, and Nic Walker (from Motown the Musical) as the psychotic trickster, The Jester.
